Saskatoon-based Sweet Nutrition recently released a new line of cookies in Canada, and the company has an ambitious goal behind it. That new line is called Protein Munchables and it's being rolled out into retail stores.

CFIA announces temporary ban of Texas livestock

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced that it would temporarily restrict livestock from entering Canada from parts of the U.S., after screwworm, a flesh-eating parasite, was detected in Texas. Animals will not be allowed to cross the Canadian border.

The screwworm fly is threatening the US$113 billion cattle industry, with an infestation from its flesh-eating larvae confirmed in Texas. Officials had tried to keep the parasite from reaching Texas, home to US$17 billion in cattle.
