Crop protection firm Vive Crop Protection, which is based in Mississauga, has promoted three leaders to its executive team.
Greg Esco, previously director of sales, will join the leadership team as vice-president of sales. Dor Kestecher has been appointed to vice-president of product and marketing, and Jeff Lacrooy has been promoted from senior vice-president of finance to chief financial officer.
“We are flattening our organization to move faster, bringing stronger commercial perspectives directly into our leadership team, and aligning our structure around the priorities that will define Vive’s next chapter,” Darren Anderson, chief executive officer of Vive Crop Protection said in a press release.
“I’m excited to see how these leaders help propel the business forward as we execute on our goal of getting a Vive product on every acre.”
The company makes fungicides, insecticides and nematicides for crops including corn, potatoes, soybeans and sugar beets, among others. It was founded in 2006.
Co-founders Anderson and vice-president Jordan Dinglasan developed the Allosperse technology while studying at the University of Toronto. The private company has raised $100 million of equity and debt so far.
New roles for company veterans
Over the past year, Lacrooy has led several key initiatives, including closing Vive’s recent equity round, building the company’s financial infrastructure and securing a working capital solution with Farm Credit Canada to support growth.
He has been with Vive for more than five years and has worked in the past at Uline and The Globe and Mail, among others.
Esco will lead Vive’s commercial sales organization across the U.S. and Canada while overseeing channel relationships. He has played a role in building and leading Vive’s sales team, bringing knowledge of the company’s customers, markets and critical partnerships.
Previously, Esco worked at Simplot Grower Solutions for more than two years and at Nutrien Ag Solutions for 24 years.
Kestecher’s responsibilities will expand from his role as North American product leader to include leadership across product management, marketing and business development.
He brings customer and market insights into portfolio management, working closely with Vive’s technology team on aligning development priorities.
Kestecher joined the company last year after being employed at Lavie Bio for almost three-and-a-half years. Previously he held roles at ADAMA Ltd. and Syngenta.
Vive Crop Protection offers production products powered by the company’s patented technology for improved crop performance.
